<image:caption>Dema is a Belgian-Moroccan visual artist born and raised in Brussels, he started his exploration of art and identity thirty years ago. His work ranges from ink on paper calligraphy, to 30ft tall murals. He holds exhibitions and workshops internationally but spends most of his time organising events and activities for children and teenagers in his hometown of Brussels. Dema has always felt in between, at the crossroads of various identities and simply refused to choose a side. Each one of his pieces sits at the intersection of calligraphy, graffiti, poetry and language, diverging paths that all lead to personal and cultural growth. Dema not only embraces his intersectionality, he sees it, in all its complexity, as his truest self.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Rayan Elnayal is a Sudanese British artist/designer based in London. She uses the skills she obtained from her architecture background to visualise and speculate on fictional spaces. She is interested in how magic realist techniques can aid in the production of ethnocentric futurisms in Sudan, the SWANA (the South-west Asian/North African) region and its diaspora. Her interest in magic realism and the idea of ‘Afrabia’ initially started as part of her architecture thesis project at the University of Greenwich and remains an on-going project. Since graduating Elnayal's work has been featured in several publications and has held two solo exhibitions in Central London. Rayan has also participated in events around diversity in creative industries.</image:caption>

<image:title>East London Textile Arts - East London Textile Arts (ELTA)</image:title>
<image:caption>East London Textile Arts (ELTA) is a collective running participatory textile projects in Newham, East London. It was set up in 2010 and works with diverse groups on a long-term developmental basis, building textile skills within communities. Our projects often include a learning-disabled textile group. We make collaborative textiles involving all who come to our classes, often centred around themes of contemporary concern, including environmental and health projects. Much of the work in this exhibition has been made by women who have been refining their textile skills with ELTA over many years. All classes are free of charge. We also sell our cards, decorated papers and printed fabrics at our Open Days and exhibitions and collaborate with visiting artists while providing training and volunteering opportunities for our participants. We have held exhibitions at St Martin in the Fields, The Hellenic Centre, The Art Workers Guild and shown work at The Watts Gallery, amongst other venues, many in Newham. More information about our projects can be found at www.eastlondontextilearts.com and on our Instagram account @eltatextiles.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Jean Morris - Dr. Jean Morris</image:title>
<image:caption>Jean’s method applies creative-writing practices to historical research. Her work is immersed in medieval worlds, exploring migratory themes such as radicalisation, border crossing and the lure of promised lands. Jean’s explorations circumnavigate the periphery of the archive, a place where primary sources are unstable or most often, absent. It is alongside these voids that she turns to storytelling and the lyrical, creating a neo-archive which re-members that which has been either misrepresented or omitted. As well as working on academic articles, Jean is currently completing her first book, based on her PhD thesis.</image:caption>
